Name: Henley Reeves
Door: Door Pass (Dominant)

Canon: Now You See Me
Canon Point: Immediately after the first movie

Age: 35
Appearance: Henley is a petite (5’3”) fair-skinned woman with long, wavy red hair and brown eyes. Her build can be described as slender and, as one of her horsemen buddies noted, she has lost some weight in the past couple years. She carries herself with confidence and looks slightly taller than she actually is.

History: http://nowyouseeme.wikia.com/wiki/Henley_Reeves

Personality: Skeptical - The plot of the first movie involves Henley and a group of other stage magicians being recruited by a clandestine organization called The Eye (supposedly the keepers of real magic) to use magic to dole out justice and do some good with their talents. While Henley goes along with The Eye’s plan through to the finish, she remains skeptical through the movie even going so far as to question The Eye’s existence toward the end of the movie in the company of the other magicians. Later in her canon, she abandons the group entirely due to her doubts.

Insecure - While Henley is a master stage magician and carries herself with an air of confidence, she shows her insecurities in small ways. Her ex-boyfriend and fellow Horseman (what their magician troupe calls themselves) Danny tends to bring up little things like her weight and when he does it’s clear that it bothers her. She’s desperate to prove herself as a competent solo magician.

Germaphobic - Henley wears a pair of gloves all throughout the movie because she is germaphobic. It doesn’t seem to hinder her too much, but she does keep the gloves on in every scene except for the escape artist scene.

Fixated - While in front of the other Horsemen Henley acts annoyed with Danny, in private it is clear that she hasn’t moved on from their relationship. The way she bickers with him is only a taste of the way she clings to the past. Henley doesn’t only obsess over their relationship, but over things he’s said to her. Words and phrases seem to stick in her memory. There is a scene in an extended version of the movie where she visits him before a show, performing a trick for him and giving him a line of dialogue, something he once said to her in passing that she remembered word-for-word. When he claims that he doesn’t remember she gets angry and emotional and leaves him to prepare for the show. By the end of the movie it seems that he’s come around and the two of them have gotten back together, but later in canon they split up again.

Caring - Being the sole woman in the Four Horsemen, Henley takes on a kind of nurturing role, almost like a mother. She expresses concern for her fellow magicians and sticks with them in spite of her doubts. Towards the end, even though she has doubts that their act will even mean anything at all, she tells the other Horsemen that she thinks doing it all with them was worth it.

Powers and Abilities: Henley is a talented stage magician. These skills aren’t limited to putting on a good performance. She is physically fit, is fairly talented at theft, is great with disguises, and has learned a fair bit of cardistry and lock-picking from fellow horseman Jack Wilder. Apparently, she can also speak French.

Inventory: A white rabbit named Fluffy, a High Priestess tarot card in a frame, a pair of black stilettos

The Way She Thinks
It was different here than it was back home. Back home Henley was never guaranteed a comfortable space. Sometimes she stayed in the penthouse suite of a Vegas resort with her friends and fellow Horsemen, while other times she shared a shabby two-room apartment with them. Life working for The Eye was hardly ever predictable and it wasn’t as comfortable as working as a solo act in Los Angeles had been, but Henley stuck with it because of the people she worked with. She cared about Jack, Merritt, and Danny and would stick by them in spite of her own doubts.

All she could think of as she walked around the plush hotel room in the Up was that this was exactly what it sounded like – a step up. As much as she felt uncomfortable with the social stratification, this was far more consistent and comfortable than a life on the run working for The Eye. Maybe she could even grow to ignore the ache in her heart she felt, missing her friends, especially Danny for whom she still had romantic feelings. Maybe with enough participation in the games this place seemed to encourage those feelings would simply numb over.

She sat on the edge of her bed and sighed, looking out her window at the beautiful view it offered. Being sorted as she had been had truly been a gift, but she still felt guilty about it. There were so many people out there stuck in the down. Henley knew the best thing she could do was to take one in, but that was about all she could do. Feeling a touch useless, she let herself fall back onto her bed with a huff.
